Enabling Digital Inclusion

It is very difficult for people to secure a stable place to live without being able to use a computer and navigate online platforms. Increasingly digital skills are essential as statutory support, education and employment opportunities as well as banking increasingly require online literacy.

We have a number of initiatives to ensure people we support are included in the digital world, and able to access the help and support they need:
  • Our Digital Zone with access to computers and on-hand support at the Holyrood Hub.
  • Regular digital drop-in sessions to develop people’s skills. These are currently being delivered in partnership with People Know How.
  • Ensuring everyone we support has an email address (and can access their email account) if they want or need this.
  • Delivering Get Digital with a range of homelessness service providers across Scotland – a programme designed to ensure digital inclusion is imbedded into how we support people. Read more.
Being computer literate and digitally confident can help people exit homelessness and achieve their goals. We’re here to help make this as easy as possible.

“I feel like I am discovering what it is like to be normal. Normal for me used to be getting stoned every day and I wasn’t always be able to think rationally. I feel that my confidence is starting to get there because of this.”
