Business Support and Administrative Assistant  

Full-time post 

£16, 500

Edinburgh

The Role
This is no ordinary administrative position.  You will need to be a highly skilled administrator but, like all of our team, you should also have a positive attitude to supporting others.  You will be responding to and passing on enquiries received in person and by telephone from a wide range of people including those who are facing homelessness.
You will work between our South Bridge and Holyrood Hub sites in one of two administrative roles which will provide a focus on business support across Streetwork and, when required, provide support to our service teams in relation to contract compliance.   You will need to be flexible as day to day work involves progressing specific tasks while responding to enquiries.
We support you with 1-1 meetings, training and other benefits.
Hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday but there may be very occasional requirement to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Candidates
With demonstrable planning, organisation, ICT and administrative skills you will also be a great problem-solver; a practical person and able to think on your feet and resolve challenges.  Your experience will cover the majority of the following areas: financial administration, building maintenance, supporting HR and Health and Safety. You should be confident about setting up new efficient administrative systems and formatting business documents.

Support Worker

Full-time and Part-time Positions

Streetwork have opportunities for support workers to join an innovative new service to resolve a person’s homelessness as quickly as possible or to join one of our existing well-respected service teams.

Support Worker role

As you’d expect you will involve service users, colleagues and other professionals to assess service user needs and, to plan and deliver support following a strengths based approach.  Support Workers work manage a caseload and maintain records.  We support you with an active reflective practice approach, regular support and supervision, training and other benefits.

Rapid Access Team

You will work primarily with people who are temporarily accommodated at Hopetoun Crescent rapid access accommodation to enable them to move onto settled accommodation.  You will collaborate with housing providers to source appropriate accommodation and connect with other Streetwork services to ensure people have  the support they need.There is a strong emphasis on developing relationships with housing providers and working collaboratively with colleagues across the range of services we provide.
There are 2 newly created full-time positions. Hours are worked mostly Monday to Friday but there may be requirement to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Visiting Housing Support  – support to access and keep a home
There is a full time position and a part-time (30 hours per week) position. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday. Some evening or weekend working may be required on occasion.
Outreach – reaching out to those on the street and in the community to provide support. There is a full time position, and 2 part time (18.75 hours) positions, one of which is temporary. Hours are over 7 days, including evenings, some weekends and, in the winter, some early mornings.
Holyrood Hub – open everyday to provide practical and emotional support
There is a full time permanent position and a full time temporary position (12 months). The shift rota is over 7 days and includes some weekend working.
In all services, full-time hours are 37.5 per week. There is a requirement to be part of the team providing Freephone Helpline support – and separate payment is made for this.

Candidates

You will have experience in support work in the health and social care sector as well as great problem-solving skills and a positive attitude to supporting others.  For VHS and Rapid Access, you will be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
