Work With Us

Support Workers
We Are Looking For Support Workers To Join Our Team
Across Edinburgh we support people with exceptional needs and we need exceptional people to help us. At Streetwork we are wholly focused on supporting people to be safe, to get off the streets and into accommodation where we continue to provide support to help them stay safe. We encounter lots of different people who find themselves at increased risk, not least young people and women for whom we’re developing a unique response to their unique needs and opportunities. If you’re looking for a genuinely fulfilling job, with a great team and a real opportunity to make a huge difference to people’s lives, then read on.
We welcome the City of Edinburgh Council’s emphasis on resolving homelessness which has been enhanced by the Scottish Government’s commitment to aim to eradicate rough sleeping in Scotland.  We were excited to see the commitment translate to action last winter through empowering front line workers with practical solutions to resolve homelessness.
This focus on resolving homeless hasn’t stopped, there is a lot more to do and we are expanding our team so that we can contribute even more to achieving the national vision.
Our values matter to us and we are looking for people who share those, who are committed to making a positive difference, and who are skilled in relating to people and working in a person-centred way to support resolution and recovery from homelessness.
Our current opportunities are for support workers with the following objectives:
Supporting women experiencing homelessness
Women experiencing homelessness have often endured and continue to experience trauma, risk and vulnerabilities. We’re looking for one fabulous person to join us in creating a uniquely personal approach and response to the women we support. This is a new post created to help us respond differently to the needs of the women we support, to enable them to be safe and to recover.
Supporting people in rapid access accommodation through the street team
We have a 12 month fixed term opportunity for a support worker to join our fantastic street team with a specific role to link with and provide support for people in Bobby’s.  Bobby’s is an emergency accommodation for people who would otherwise be sleeping rough, or using the winter care shelters.  The role will work closely with Streetwork’s Street and Rapid Access Teams.
Supporting people who are sleeping rough
We are looking for a support worker to join the team at our Holyrood Hub which provides vital services for people who are sleeping rough, or facing other forms of homelessness in Edinburgh.  Support Workers at the Hub offer potentially life changing help for people who are facing exceptionally difficult circumstances and we are looking for a dynamic person to join the team to help us do more.
Providing Housing First Support
We are delighted to be part of Edinburgh’s Housing First consortium and are looking for two fabulous people who are committed to the Housing First approach to provide support for people who are part of Edinburgh’s Housing First program.  While you will be employed by Streetwork you will work as part of a team of people from the various consortium agencies and with direction from the consortium manager.
Homelessness doesn’t just happen during office hours and so our work takes place 7 days a week at times that meet the needs of the people we support. Support Workers also contribute to covering our Helpline overnight on a rota basis.
The salary for these positions is £17, 612 – £19, 601.
How to Apply:
• Download the Job Description and Application Pack from this page.
• Return your completed application to recruitment@nullstreetwork.org. uk as soon as possible and no later than 28th January 2019.  Please indicate which post(s) you are interested in applying for.
